Build A Picket Fence

To build a picket fence, erect pickets are used. A picket fence is that variety of fence, which is used mainly for fencing the domestic boundaries. A simple fence is made from wooden pickets, which are connected by horizontal bars. A fence consists of vertical piles, which are sharpen at the upper end and supported by horizontal rails. Its length is weaved horizontally so that the bars appear can in an array, which looks like a picket fence.

When someone wants to border his/her property by placing fence around the area or by building picket fence, then the person should be sure about where his property's power lines are. If the person is not sure about the power lines and gas lines under the earth surface then he should contact his local building department as if he starts digging without the information of lines then surely it may lead to any severe consequences.

Once all the formalities are completed then a person can plot the fence. You can put the proposed fence by using small stacks and strings. First, take all the measurements related with fencing and make a list of available material list. Make an outline for fence posts for placing them at a distance of 6' to 8' from each other. Start with the corner postposition. Push a small stake at each corner and elongate the string from corner to corner. Set the entire stake in the dug holes at same distance for aligning them in a straight line. One can also use the spray paint to mark the surface for each position.

For placing a picket fencing, one needs following tools: - (1) power saw and drill, (2) 36" level, (3) post hole digger, (4) shovel and bucket for mixing cement, (5) hammer, (6) small hand saw. To build a picket fence, dig the hole in the surface deep so that 1/3 of post can place into the hole. Try to make bottom of the hole, a little wider than the top. It provides extra stability. Place the post into the hole and put some stones for the drainage. Pack the post with cement or concrete and make sure that each post is straight and aligned.
